TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Technology is changing how we work, live and interact. And when it comes to assistive technology, there are ways to help people with disabilities.
Tech expert Blake Dowling from Aegis Business Technology joined us for edition of Tech Smart.
Dowling says assistive technology can’t “cure” learning and attention issues, but it can help kids work around their challenges. He adds that not all types of assistive technology are high-tech.
Dowling works with the Gretchen Everhart School in Tallahassee to help students with physical and intellectual disabilities by using the latest in technology.
He says another great resource, especially for adults, is FAAST, or Florida Assistive Service Technologies.
